Attendance and Punctuality

Academic success is directly correlated with attendance and participation in class. Punctuality shows
respect for peers, staff, school and personal responsibility for one’s own learning. Students should strive to
be on time for classes and all other School co-curricular activities.

  • All students must attend school at 7:30 am sharp for all grades.
  • Any student arrives after the announced time will be considered and registered as late. His/her name
will be taken down in the tardiness sheet.
  • In case of repeated tardiness for 4 times or more, he/she will not be allowed to get into the
    classroom.
  • Students have to attend on daily basis and bring their school supplies.
  • Students are not permitted to get out of the school premises under any circumstances.
  • Students will depart according to the following schedule: Primary and Preparatory stages at 2:20 pm
    Secondary stage at 1:40 pm
  • The school gates open after the school buses departure.
  • Parents should pick up their children from gate 6 and exit from gate 5.
Note: Administrative staff appointments will be held at the end of the school day after getting the
confirmation from the school secretary side via a phone call.

Behavior and Discipline

Students must have good manners inside the school premises. Though traits within good manners are uncountable,
some traits are a must. These good manners are necessary for all. Some of such good manners which we can
practice in our daily life are like:

  • We should be helpful, polite and humble to others in every possible way.
  • We must use the words ‘sorry’, ‘please’, ‘thank you’ and ‘excuse me’ when required.
  • We must respect and preserve our school property by taking care of things we use in and around the
    classroom and school building.
  • We must learn the habit of sharing things with others.
  • We must always take permission before using other’s belongings.
  • We must be responsible as well as self-dependent for everything at every place.
  • We should not use any offensive or abusive language to others at school, home or any other place.
  • We must behave in a good way with humble respect to our teachers, parents and other elders.
  • We should always maintain cleanliness at home, school, and all other public places.
Discipline is necessary to create an atmosphere of healthy learning in classroom as every student obeys the rules and focus on learning rather than creating mischief in a class by this student able to focus more on information and
    gain knowledge.

School Uniform and General Appearance

Our School Uniform and General Appearance Policy reflects the message of those standards by
encouraging the positive appearance, conduct, and efforts of our students. The purpose of our uniform policy is to create a climate focused on student learning, improve student behavior, allow
students to be seen by others based on their unique personalities and not based on their clothing, reduce dress competitiveness, and improve the sense of the school unity, spirit and pride.

  • Wearing the school uniform is compulsory.
  • It must be clean and tidy without any logos or pictures. Otherwise, it will not be accepted.
  • Students’ shoes must be plain black.
  • No caps, beanies or sweatbands are allowed.
  • No makeup, nail polish and accessories are allowed.
  • Students must care about their appearance in terms of haircut, cleanliness of nails, etc.
  • It is necessary for boys to have neat short hair. As for girls, their hair must be tied in a ponytail or a braid using white, black or dark green hair bands.
  • Students who do not follow the school uniform and appearance regulations will not be allowed to enter the classroom and will be considered absent.

Trips

It is of primary importance to get students out of their desks and away from their books, and to
give them direct, vivid, sensory experience with the world around them.
SFS strongly believes that field trips give students a good opportunity to make observations and have experiences not accessible to them in the classroom, but directly related to the crucial knowledge acquired in the classroom.
During the academic year we plan many trips for our students to allow them to change the routine and explore the world.
Our planned educational trips help students get thrilled about learning. They give students opportunities for experimental knowledge.
SFS organizes three to four trips a year to different places. Students would spend one day on the Red Sea beach, and another day in an amusement park, or the full-board Nile Cruise!
