1982: Establishment of St. Fatima Language School – Nasr City

  • The School was established by the late Mr. Said Younan in 1982. Since then, it has successfully expanded and developed to become what it is today. Currently, it is a fully-fledged school, offering all levels of education and embracing all the four stages, namely Foundation, Primary, Middle, and High Schools.
  • Founded in 1982, with a history of 40 years of quality education provision, SFS is renowned for being one of the best schools in Egypt. The School is proud to have received several international awards, memberships, and accreditations over the years, but our main source of pride is our successful students and their happy parents.

Facts & Milestones

1990/1991: Foundation of the IGCSE Department.

The IGCSE Department commenced its work in 1989, having expanded over the years to become one of the most important centers for teaching the Cambridge Curriculum in Egypt. The IGCSE Department at SFS was among the very first centers in Egypt to offer the courses for the internationally recognized Cambridge Certificate.

  • 2001: SFS Selected as the Main IGCSE Exams Venue in Egypt
    Since November 2001, the School was selected by the British Council to house all the IGCS exams. Theoretical, practical, and listening exams have been held on the School premises.
  • 2004/2005: Foundation of the School’s American Department
    SFS American Department began with its infancy stage and has been in operation since the academic year 2004-2005. We offer the American Diploma Program accredited by AdvancED. It is the world’s largest education community, serving more than 27,000 public and private schools and districts across the US and in 65 countries overseas, and educating 15 million students worldwide. AdvancED is dedicated to advancing excellence in education through an international accreditation process supported with research–based standards, innovative products, services, and professional learning. Our American Department has proven its credibility by continuous implementing the best practices that ensure the holistic approach to teaching, and help students reach their potential.
  • 2007/2008: Foundation of the Cambridge Primary Programme (C.P.P.)
    SFS started offering the C.P.P. since the academic year of 2007-2008. C.P.P. gives schools a framework to develop young students’ Mathematics, English, and Science skills through the programmes monitored by the Cambridge University, one of the most reputable international authorities in the field of education. These three programmes rely heavily on the New British Curriculum, which allows for flexibility to adapt to different countries’ specific conditions. For instance, as recommended by Cambridge, the subjects are taught in English from English course books. Yet, Arabic, Religion, and Social Studies are administered through the curriculum of the Ministry of Education of Egypt to prepare students for these compulsory exams.
  • 2014-2015: 25th Anniversary of I.G.C.S.E qualification in Egypt
    SFS celebrated the 25th anniversary of being the IGCSE pioneer in Egypt.
  • 2014-2015: Reaccreditation of American Diploma
    Fatima American School marked its fifth consecutive year of accreditation by AdvancED. Since then SFS has been acknowledged as one of the top 10 American schools in Egypt. SFS American Department offers all the stages of American education, boasting with a large portfolio of awards, memberships, and international accreditations.
  • 2015: St. Fatima School expanded its legacy to St. Fatima Badr International School in Suez.
  • Fatima School took the opportunity to expand its legacy to St. Fatima Badr International School in Suez, which was founded and built by the Egyptian Army in 2015. Notably, SFBIS was the first international school based in Suez Governorate.
  • SFBIS continues to strive to achieve academic excellence, empowering our students to become valuable citizens in our community.
